  • Happy Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras refers to the events of the Carnival celebrations, the celebrations leading up to Ash Wednesday. Although Americans think of New Orleans, the real “Carnival” is in Brazil and is the most famous Brazilian holiday. If you don’t believe me, go down to Rio de Janeiro and see for yourself.  They usually have ~2Million people celebrating in their city on Fat Tuesday. I could go into all of the religious hoopla but lets be serious; the importance of these festivities is BOOZE & BOOBS….in that order.

Back to New Orleans. Since I was 12 I have gone to EVERY Mardi Gras in New Orleans.  It is a battle between alcohol poisoning, sleep deprivation, and pure mayhem. Various years, various winners……but it was all worth it. Now raise a glass, eat some King Cake, and have a Daiquiri, cause today is MARDI GRAS DAY.
